Become a Mangrove 2022 Fellow.

Updated: Apr 23, 2022

After the success of the 2021 edition, we have decided to launch a second edition of our Mangrove Fellows programs: We are looking for two new exceptional interns for a 6 months period after the summer. So, if you are a student or young professional, and are intrigued by the world of venture capital and tech startups, keep on reading.

This role has been a nice launchpad into the fascinating world of venture for the folks who have done it in the past. The two fellows from our 2021 batch went on to join one of the best incubators in Europe and an exciting startup. Other previous interns went on to launch their own startup, others joined friends at another VC firm, some founded their own venture fund a couple of years later, and some stayed with Mangrove after their internship (myself I was a pre-MBA intern...).

This role is slightly different from other classic VC internships in the sense that is part of a larger, ongoing program, and network: 'The Mangrove Fellows'. With 6 months, the internship period is longer, the person will be even more involved in the day-to-day of our team. You will support our investment team across the entire deal sourcing and making process, gain deep insights into our diverse portfolio of companies, and create long-lasting bonds with our team and the broader network - during and after the program.

Here more details about the job. If you are interested, here is the process:

To start, reach out to us until May 13 (the earlier the better, of course) by:

  • Sending your CV, including social media links (Linkedin; Optional: Twitter, Blog) to jobs@mangrove.vc

  • Suggesting one tech company that you think is interesting for Mangrove to invest in. Please give 1-2 reasons (1 paragraph for each max)

  • Telling us which technology trend or sector excites you and why

  • Indicating your availability (dates)

From the initial submission, we select and contact a smaller group for individual video call interviews. We expect the process to be finished by mid-July, and candidates should be available to start work in September.

As with our initiatives Included VC and EasyVc.co for aspiring VCs and startup founders respectively, we recognize the difficulties of entering the VC world and strongly encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. It is our intent to recruit at least one fellow from a diverse background.

I am looking forward to hearing from you and reading your applications!

Last week I was in Mexico for two reasons. First, my friend Christine organized the 2022 Kauffman summit in Mexico City. More in our next post on why showing up in person is everything... Second, we did a small retreat with some fellow venture investors from the US and Europe to discuss the current state of the market. Many of my predictions from earlier this year (see here) seem to be reality by now. Below is a picture of one of the magical Teotihuacán pyramids just outside of Mexico City.

Life is awesome,

Yannick
